I had a similar experience with one of my favourite singers yesterday! We were at a smaller venue and she was just so real and so present. She spent the entire concert interacting with the crowd, showering attention on her crew, talking about her hardships. It made me fall in love with her work even more. It's so special when the people we look up to are as incredible in real life as we'd always hoped!!
(And it was Rachel Platten btw...a total badass with the voice of an angel!)

Small, intimate venues like that can be epic if the artist is open and engaging. Sounds like she was just that.
I love that for you, Robin.
And thanks for the heads up, Iβll check her out now.
She had one big hit years ago, but honestly I feel like that one song is far down on the list of her bests!
Itβs always not just great but inspirational to meet someone we admire. Then to find out how down to earth and real they are.
Amen, Jo. Her online presence elevates her to angelic-like heights, but I'll be damned if she isn't just as humble and human as the rest of us.
Thanks for chiming in! π
Ooo i'll have to check out some of her work!
I have no doubt you'll be a fan!
May I borrow your copy to read? She sounds like a person to know.
Of course π
So great. I enjoyed The Mountain Is You. π
Forgot to tell her that's the only book I carried with me on my last SE Asian journey!
It was the perfect threesome πβ‘οΈShe has such great energy!
You've got the name scribble to prove it!
